Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy outlines the terms for cancelling hotel bookings and receiving refunds on the Stayvora platform (stayvora.in). This policy is required by our payment partner Razorpay and complies with Indian consumer protection laws.

1. Cancellation by Guest

a) Refundable Bookings:

  • Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before check-in (unless the hotel specifies a different policy)
  • The specific cancellation deadline is clearly displayed during the booking process and in your booking confirmation
  • Cancellations made within the free cancellation window receive a full refund
  • Cancellations made after the free cancellation deadline may be charged up to one night's stay or the full booking amount, depending on the hotel's policy

b) Non-Refundable Bookings:

  • Non-refundable bookings are clearly marked during the booking process
  • These bookings cannot be cancelled or refunded under any circumstances
  • Non-refundable bookings typically offer a discounted rate compared to refundable bookings

2. Cancellation by Hotel

  • If a hotel cancels your booking for any reason, you will receive a full refund automatically
  • Stayvora will assist in finding an alternative property of equal or better quality at no extra cost

3. Cancellation by Stayvora

  • Stayvora may cancel a booking if payment is suspected to be fraudulent
  • Bookings may be cancelled if the hotel reports unavailability due to force majeure (natural disaster, government orders, etc.)
  • In all cases of cancellation by Stayvora, a full refund will be issued

4. No-Show Policy

  • If you fail to check in on the booking date without prior cancellation, this is considered a no-show
  • No-shows are charged the full booking amount with no refund
  • If you plan to arrive late, please inform the hotel in advance to avoid no-show charges

5. Refund Process

  • Eligible refunds are initiated within 24-48 hours of cancellation
  • Refunds are processed through Razorpay to the original payment method
  • Refund timelines by payment method:
    • UPI: 1-3 business days
    • Debit Card: 5-7 business days
    • Credit Card: 5-7 business days
    • Net Banking: 5-7 business days
    • Wallets: 1-3 business days
  • Refund amount will exclude any non-refundable components (such as processing fees, if applicable)

6. Partial Payments

  • If you made a partial payment at the time of booking, the refund will be limited to the amount actually paid online
  • Any balance amount paid at the hotel must be refunded by the hotel directly

7. How to Cancel a Booking

  1. Log in to your Stayvora account
  2. Go to "My Bookings"
  3. Select the booking you want to cancel
  4. Click "Cancel Booking" and confirm
  5. You will receive a cancellation confirmation via email and WhatsApp

8. Disputes & Escalation

  • If you believe a refund was incorrectly processed, contact us at support@stayvora.in within 30 days
  • We will investigate and respond within 48 hours
  • For unresolved disputes, you may escalate to the Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum
